The historical site of Sant’ Anna in Camprena is an Abbey near Pienza, a former Olivetan Benedictine monastery from the 15th century. Here the director Anthony Minghella shot many scenes of The English Patient, exploiting the original settings of the abbey and modifying them with reconstructions. The movie was nominated for 9 academy awards.
